Laura Nixon is a deeply curious financial and business partner who helps Nashville-area business owners turn big ideas into sustainable, transferable value. With 20 years of experience, Laura began her career in marketing and went on to lead multi-disciplinary teams at a large corporation, helping P&Ls find creative ways to grow, rally their people, and get things done. One of her most rewarding projects was building a new P&L from the ground up—growing it from zero to $1 million in just 133 days by bringing talented, motivated people together around a bold goal.
As a FocusCFO Area President, Laura is passionate about supporting small businesses because they are scrappy, driven, creative, and deeply connected to the communities they serve. She listens closely, asks thoughtful questions, and brings an outside-the-box perspective to help owners see their next opportunity and move forward with confidence. Before FocusCFO
Prior to focus, I spent 10 years at ad agencies learning all kinds of industries - from restaurants, healthcare, cell phone accessories, CPG to capital markets wealth management, each was a deep dive into how different customers are thinking about interacting wtih those businesses. I spent the next 10 years in corporate marketing at first, managing email, search, paid, and content, and ultimately moved into managing the website, the E-commerce store and the customer facing account functionality. I'm passionate about clear goals, clear leadership, and a commitment to growth. It helped me win awards for a marketing campaign of the year, as well as a results in leadership award.
