Derek Gaff
- Area President
Derek has more than 30 years of diverse business and finance experience and joined FocusCFO in June 2025. He has experience in various industries, including staffing, SaaS, financial services, and manufacturing. Derek has a Six Sigma Green Belt and a track record of process improvement and driving efficiency.
Before FocusCFO
Derek is an accomplished finance executive with experience in Fortune 500 (GE, J&J, FIS, Adecco) as well as privately held companies. He specializes in financial strategy, systems implementation, and process optimization. Known for his ability to lead cross-functional teams, his expertise spans areas such as financial consolidation, budgeting, cost control, and M&A activities. He has successfully improved operational efficiency, managed international financial reporting, and implemented automated systems to streamline accounting functions.
Derek received his International MBA from the University of South Carolina and previously a BA in Economics from the University of Georgia.
- What is your favorite way to spend free time? Seeing live music, attending concerts and festivals…2024 was my most ever when I saw 170 shows!
- What was your favorite vacation? Taking my three sons to Costa Rica for some fun fishing, zip-lining and ATV riding in the mountains
- What are you passionate about? The University of Florida Fighting Gators...despite graduating from USC and UGA, I am a die-hard Gator and rarely miss a home football or basketball game!
