Jim brings over 15 years of experience in operations, sales, and strategic planning, partnering directly with business owners in founder-led and privately held organizations. He has a proven track record of scaling service-based businesses, improving cash flow cycles, and building systems that drive client retention and recurring revenue. As the founder of a successful professional services firm, Jim led it through growth and eventual sale, gaining firsthand insight into the challenges and opportunities owners face. He leverages his expertise in budgeting, KPI development, and margin improvement to help clients strengthen their financial health and achieve sustainable growth.
Before FocusCFO
Before joining FocusCFO, he spent more than 15 years working side-by-side with business owners and sales leaders in privately held companies. He co-founded a professional services firm with his brother, grew it from the two of them to over 140 employees, and eventually sold it. Along the way, he rolled up his sleeves in operations, sales, and strategy—solving cash flow challenges, building systems to keep clients happy, and putting metrics in place to drive lasting growth.
- What is your favorite way to spend free time? In his free time, Jim enjoys spending time with his wife, Samantha, son Wesley, playing card games with friends, and golfing.
- What did you want to be when you grew up? As a kid, Jim wanted to be a chef, but snacking on the meal ingredients ultimately held him back from being the next Gordon Ramsay.
- What is at the top of your "bucket list"? Playing a round of golf with his son at St. Andrews.
